چکیده

Antimycotic bifonazole (BIF) is a very hydrophobic compound, which is a major drawback for obtaining topical pharmaceutical formulations with optimal bioavailabiliy and for the penetration into hydrophilic human nail matrices. Cyclodextrins may increase local drug delivery by enhancing the drug release and/or permeation. The binary systems between bifonazole and β-cyclodextrin were prepared in two (BIF:β-CD) molar ratios by physical-mixture and kneaded method. Hot-stage microscopy (HSM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffractometry and Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used to characterize solid state interactions between bifonazole and βcyclodextrin (β-CD) in their binary systems. The X-ray diffractograms, as well as the FTIR analysis suggest the formation of a new solid phase, indicating a molecular interaction between the components. The HSM analysis and the DSC analysis sustain the hypothesis of formation of partial inclusion complexes between BIF and β-CD.

Preparation, Physicochemical Characterization and In-vitro Dissolution Studies of Diosmin-cyclodextrin Inclusion Complexes

Diosmin, a vascular-protecting agent, is practically insoluble in water, and its oral absorption is limited by its extremely low dissolution rate. In this study, β-cyclodextrin (βCD) and 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) were obtained to improve the solubility and dissolution rate of diosmin. Phase solubility studies of diosmin with βCD and HPβCD in distilled water were conducted to charac...

Evaluation of Some Methods for Preparing Glipizide-β-Cyclodextrin Inclusion Complexes

Glipizide has been found to form inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) in solution and in solid state. The present study was undertaken to determine a suitable method for scaling up glipizide-β-CD inclusion complex formation and to evaluate the effect of some parameters on the efficiency of complexation. The solid inclusion complexes of glipizide and β-CD were prepared at a molar...
